La Cimade is an association founded in 1939 whose aim is to show active solidarity with oppressed and exploited people. It, therefore, defends the rights of foreigners, refugees, or migrants, regardless of their origins, convictions, or political opinions. La Cimade relies on a network of approximately 2,500 volunteers divided into 90 local groups.
How can it help you?
La Cimade organizes legal clinics for foreigners in their efforts to obtain a residence permit or asylum in France. It is also present in several administrative detention centers and more than 70 prisons and fights against problems related to detention.
To obtain help, you can contact the national delegation in your region or, failing that, your local group, which will be able to tell you the appropriate steps to take and the appropriate contacts.
Activities
Legal and administrative services. La Cimade's main activity is to accompany and advise foreigners, whatever their situation, in all their procedures and requests.
Accommodation. La Cimade accommodates and accompanies asylum seekers in two centers: Bézier and Massy.
Advocacy with political leaders and informing public opinion on migration realities. It builds proposals to change migration policies.
