SOS Homophobie is an association founded in 1994 around a listening and support line for victims of homophobia.

Today it is a feminist association fighting against lesbophobia, gayphobia, biphobia, transphobia, and intersexophobia. The association has developed around three values: benevolence, inclusion, independence, and three missions: to support victims, to prevent discrimination, and to militate for equal rights.

How can it help you?

Listening to victims and witnesses of discrimination

SOS Homophobie provides a national anonymous telephone listening service for victims or witnesses of acts or discrimination related to their sexual orientation or gender identity.

If you are in one of these situations, you can call the helpline at +33 1 48 06 42 41 to receive support, advice, and practical information from specially trained volunteers.

If you prefer to express yourself in writing, you can contact SOS homophobia by private anonymous chat called "chat'écoute."

Legal support for victims of discrimination

If you have been discriminated against or assaulted because of your gender identity or sexual orientation, you can contact the association to receive legal support from volunteer lawyers. You can request this help by contacting the hotline or submitting your testimony online on the SOS homophobia website.

The association can, for example, accompany you in your search for a specialized lawyer, join you as a civil party, or send reminder letters to your employer, landlord, or schools that do not respect their obligations towards you.

Activities

  • prevention of homophobic discrimination by raising awareness among the public with interventions in schools and professional environments
  • organization of events and debates in local communities, associations, private and public companies, prisons, and sports facilities
  • drafting of an annual report on LGBTIphobia
  • lobbying French and European institutions for equal rights
