The Shelter Foundation is an association that aims to prevent the isolation and suicide of young LGBT+ people aged 14 to 25 who are victims of homophobia or transphobia and in a situation of family breakdown. Since 2003, The Shelter has housed and accompanied these minors and young adults toward emotional and material reconstruction.

How can it help you?

Support and accommodation

The Shelter Foundation has 20 reception facilities in metropolitan France, providing emergency accommodation for young LGBT+ people in distress. Within the framework of these reception facilities, socio-educational, medical, and psychological support is offered to young people to help them become independent and to help them rebuild their lives. In addition, these facilities' youth can also benefit from legal, food, and material assistance.

Hotline for LGBT+ youth

The Shelter hotline can be reached by phone or text at +33 6 31 59 69 50 for all young LGBT+ victims of family homophobia or discomfort due to their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. This contact allows the association to advise the person, direct them to other partner structures, or even transmit their contact information to social workers. If necessary, the association will suggest that the young person be taken in charge by one of The Shelter's services.
