The High Authority for Health is an independent public authority that aims to develop quality in the health, social and medico-social fields for the benefit of individuals. It works with public authorities and professionals to optimise their practices.

Supervision of healthcare services and medicines
The High Authority for Health has three principal missions:
- It evaluates and reviews medicines, medical devices and professional medical acts in view of their reimbursement
- It recommends good professional practices, develops vaccination campaigns and issues public health recommendations
- It measures and improves quality of healthcare in hospitals, clinics, social and medico-social structures
The right to alert
The right to alert allows accredited associations of patients and health system users to refer to the High Authority for Health any fact with a significant impact on health. Individual applications or applications from non-accredited associations will not be accepted.
